QScapes Driftwood Jungle Kit (60cm)

A wood-first jungle layout in a box. This kit is built around a show-size piece of spider wood, backed up by malaysian driftwood for layered depth, over a rich Controsoil base with a Controbase supplement for heavy-feeding root plants. Jungle-style scapes work by verticality and overlap: anchor the main spider wood slightly off-center, keep a small gap between wood and glass for cleaning access, and break rather than saw any awkward branches so the cuts never show. The layered canopy gives mosses and epiphytes like anubias and bucephalandra plenty of surfaces to grip, and the enriched substrate sustains crypts and sword plants for the long run.

Care and planting guidance: spider wood can float at first, so weigh the base down with stone or bury it several centimeters into the soil. Expect a harmless white biofilm on new wood in the first weeks; it fades on its own or can be grazed down by shrimp and otocinclus. Plant densely from the start, mist the slope as you build, and top with the Controbase around heavy root feeders before filling.
