QScapes Lava Rock Ridge Kit (60cm)
A dark, dramatic ridgeline scape built from black lava rock, lifted by a branching star wood accent, over active soil and hardscape bonding, sized for a 60cm tank. Lava rock is lightweight, porous and full of surface area, so it colonizes beneficial bacteria quickly and holds mosses and ferns without extra glue in most spots. Ridge layouts read best with a strong primary line from front to back, stepped heights toward the back of the tank, and planted pockets breaking up the rock mass. The result suits both low-tech anubias-and-fern scapes and high-tech carpet layouts.

Planting guidance: rinse the lava rock to remove dust, then build the ridgeline in stepped layers, using Controlock to fix any stacked joints. Slope the Controsoil deep at the back so roots and slopes hold. Attach anubias, bucephalandra or java fern to the star wood and shaded rock faces, and plant carpeting species densely in the foreground. The dark stone pairs well with lighter fish and green foliage for contrast.
