Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India. It obtains brown, patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy colour underneath, it forms lateral shoots and we can cut and replant these shoots to produce new plants. The shoots attach themselves to rocks and driftwood, so the moss-like form of this plant will anchor even more strongly to hardscape. It is a moderately demanding plant that grows best with added CO2 and adequate light.
